I know this is not a parenting blog.  But women do get pregnant, whether they are married or not.  Usually, by the time a woman get tested positive for pregnancy, she probably is very much pregnant.

So, what are the early signs and symptoms of pregnancy that a woman should know?  Can she ‘feel’ pregnant?  Yes, she can.

I am not advocating an abortion by finding out early.  In fact, one of my anon. blog reader whom got pregnant had exchanged some heart-to-heart mails with me.  She was at first, very apprehensive about telling her parents.  However, everything turned out well and a wedding was carried out within a few short weeks.  By now, her baby is probably five months old.

So, let’s see how a pregnant woman feels during early pregnancy:

Tender, swollen breasts or nipples

One of the first physical changes of pregnancy is a change in the way your breasts feel. They may feel tender, tingly or sore.

Fatigue

Many women feel wiped out during pregnancy, especially in the early stages

Slight bleeding or cramping

Some women experience a small amount of spotting or bleeding very early in pregnancy, about 10 to 14 days after fertilization. Known as implantation bleeding,

Nausea with or without vomiting

Morning sickness is one of the telltale signs of early pregnancy. Most women feel some sickness around four to eight weeks of pregnancy, but the queasiness can begin as early as two weeks after conception.

Food aversions or cravings

Turning up your nose at certain foods is often the first hint that you’re pregnant

And many, many more.  Read up from Medline Plus website.

As a parting word, if at all you found out that you are pregnant and not married or have a steady relationship with the man, do seek help.  There are many dependable organisations whom you can turn to.  Tell your parents.  No parents will cause hurt and harm to their children.    Do not opt out the easy way because a child is always welcome by some loving parents.  There are plenty of parents ready to care for your child.  Don’t sacrifice your life carrying an eternal guilt of abortion.
