How many people dislikes David Beckham because of Victoria?

I was at the bookstore just now and saw this book written by Ted Beckham, titled, David Beckham, My Son.  I thumbed through out of curiousity.  Not that I like David Beckham, football, FIFA World Cup or Manchester United.  But more to find out what childhood he had.

The book is a complete  diary (heh, sorry for the immature term) of David’s parent’s wedding, his birth, including his birth certificate, years as a baby, kindergarten kid right up to where he is now.

Almost every women dislike David Beckham because of Victoria, don’t they?  I don’t know.  Not only I found David Beckham’s voice damn turn-off, compared to his persona, I dislike the celebrity factor too.  I don’t know why but I kept mixing up David Beckham and Ronan Keating all the time!

Anyway, am feeling a little glee that David Beckham has ‘stands down as England captain’ and here’s what some people said about him:

I’m not even sure he earnt his team place in the last 1/2 dozen matches. He wouldn’t have been in if his name wasn’t Beckham or if the manager had had more bottle. Just having him in the team to take free kicks and corners is plain stupid

it’s about time he stepped down. for how many years have we put up with his below par performances? ever since he went to real 2/3 years ago?

it’s just not good enough. we have to stop endorsing players based on their status as icons and start selecting the team/captain based on performance/ability to lead.

otherwise we’ll never get to the semifinals, let alone the final and win the darn thing.
