Someone dropped a comment the other day asking me if eyebrow embroidery is halal for Muslims. Heck, I don’t know because I have never done such thing and don’t have the faintest idea what was done. I suppose it is stitching some extra hairs over the eyebrow? What kind of hairs? Heh, I don’t know.

Muslims in Malaysia are going to have to learn to live with their wrinkles, after the country’s top Islamic body ruled against Botox injections.

The council decided that the serum contained prohibited substances, including those derived from pigs.

The ruling is expected to find its way into Malaysia’s Islamic laws.

However, there is little the authorities can do to stop the country’s Botox set travelling abroad to get their wrinkles ironed out. (full news on BBC)

Even before the National Fatwa Council ruled against
Botox injections, Muslims should know that “mengubah ciptaan Allah itu haram”. Botox is prohibited because it numbs the muscles/wrinkles, and this is considered as “mengubah ciptaan Allah” as well as going against nature. I believe eyebrow embroidery falls in this category as well.

SkyJuice7 is right, changing the shape, etc etc of one’s eyebrows does fall into the mentioned category; therefore it is not allowed.
