People dye their hairs because they want a different colour. I dye my hair because I have way too many boxes of L’ Oreal hair colours. I won 12 boxes in a contest, gave some away and had been struggling to finish them since last year.

None of the colours given to me by L’ Oreal shows up on my very black hair. The last one I used was Mahogany Brown and OMG, my black hair turned sooooo black! It is so black it looks like fake hairs.

So, just to counter that too black hair, I just bought myself a bottle of Revlon Coloursilk in Medium Blonde. I chosed Revlon because it is the cheapest on the shelf. There are cheaper brands but I am afraid those local made ones may turn my hair into straws instead.
I have just poured the whole bottle on my head. DIY hair colouring at home is easy-peasy and in three simple steps. Mix, dye and rinse. Finish. I prefer this than spending a bomb at the hair salon. I had to sit there for hours and hours just to wait for the colours to take effect. And as usual, there isn’t any major result.

I won the L’ Oreal makeover which includes hair colouring. After spending three hours colouring my hair and another two hours for the make-up and photography, the photographer had to artificially dye my hair with Photoshopping. Go figure!

Another reason I dye my hair is to reduce the frequency I have to wash my hair. The hair colour stripped off the oil and I can go for two days without washing my hair. Otherwise, I gotta wash every other day. Or I will go nuts with oily hair. *sigh* Wish I can just keep my head bald.

If you know of any good DIY hair colouring brand, do share. I hate those that drips down my neck or the kind that smells strongly of ammonia. So far, Revlon is pretty easy to manage but I don’t know the end results yet.

Gotta run! Time’s up. Need to rinse off the colour or else I turned total blonde.

So what’s the result. Did it work for u?
LAst time when my hair was really black, my friend told me to use the hairdryer after i applied the coloring. Works for me, at least can see the color but stil not super bright eventhough i use the copper light color. But not sure of the damage done to the hair though.

DIY colours - try not to use the ‘dark’ colours. Stay away from brown too will also leave your hair colour very black! Somehow these dark colours just don’t ‘click’ with black hair. I usually attack light colours make the hair colour really great looking. Revlon blonde is rather orangey right? How did it turn out?
