Women magazines
The funny thing about life is when you can afford stuffs, you no longer crave for them. But when you can’t afford it, these things look so attractive and ‘must-have’. That’s probably the reason why I stopped reading women magazines because those things advertised no longer attract me.
Whether it is the latest spring collections of lipsticks or the latest summer dresses, none appeals to me now. However, when I was in my late teens and twenties, thumbing through women magazines and drooling over expensive lipsticks and accessories were like the greatest torture and yet, pleasurable. Page after page of things that I want to have but can’t afford were so tempting.
I think that’s why women magazines don’t normally cater to older women eventhough these older women have better spending power. Cash comes easily for us and yet, we are smart enough not to fall for glossy pages of advertisements.
Why am I rambling? Because I just realised that I haven’t bought a single women magazine anymore. The only time I read is when I visit my hairdresser. *sigh* Why the heck am I having a women’s blog then? ‘Cos hehehe, I have now turned to the dark side where posts are coming out fast and furious for the moolah.
