I seriously think if women have a choice, they wouldn’t want to be bothered with wearing an additional piece of clothing that men don’t. I mean, why would we want to bother with spending extra moolah buying bras? And this tiny piece of this thing cannot just be thrown along into the washing machine and dryer, creating additional chore.

Too bad that those bras burning movement in the late 60s and 70s never took off or else, mammamia, we do not need to wear bra at all. Since that is not meant to be, all of us girls have to go through the ritual of wearing those singlet-type cotton shirt when we were about 9-10 years old. Then, progress to teenage bras which was like a big leap to womanhood. Teens are lucky that there are so many cute teenage bras designs, very unlike my time when they only come in white and pink cotton.

Then, the awkwardness of buying bras in the lingerie section when some other female shoppers brought the boyfriend/husband to stand right smack in the middle. Each time, I pick one up, I can feel the stares, undressing me, the men wondering what I am wearing underneath…..But lucky that there is online shopping now and we can great fitting bra from the comfort and privacy of our own home. No need to worry if the folks around are sniggering at my choice of colour or design.

The best of all is one can get any sizes, any shapes of bras delivered to the home. We do not have to worry about moronic sales promoter yelling across the isle with something in this tune, “Sorry auntie, we don’t have bras in your size. The most we carry is cup B, no cup E.” Yeah, things like these do happened. That’s why have a love-hate relationship with bras.
