Few days ago, thieves broke into my hubby’s office and took away his wedding ring. It was just a simple gold band because we had a very simple wedding.
Come to think of it, we never even thought of getting a pair of wedding ring until the officer at the marriage registrar office asked if we have rings to exchange. Rings? We did not even get any perfect engagement ring to mark our relationship when we lived together. I know we should have done that but we were awfully broke at that time.
So, we got out of the registrar of civil marriage office and head straight to the jeweller shop for a pair of rings. I wish I can boast of “I took off my diamond engagement ring and put on the 2 carats diamond solitaire wedding ring while my husband-to-be looked lovingly into my eyes while he swiped his Platinum card”. But no, we could only afford the cheapest gold band.
Then again, I am not complaining because our marriage have lasted 20 years (inclusive of the 2 years we lived together) and five kids. So, maybe when we reached our 20 years wedding anniversary (now only 18 years on Nov. 25th),I will be able to afford the perfect mens wedding rings because we have more moolah now than before.
So, to all the young couples out there. Get yourself the perfect engagement ring if you have the dough. It is a nice symbol to keep and talk about it next time.
Sorry to hear about that. However, just wondering why he leaves his wedding band in the office. My wife would kill me if she found me without the ring on my finger.
