I met my son’s girlfriend a couple of months ago when she and her sister were shopping for a gadget and asked us to check it out. However, yesterday was much more thrilling because he brought her to our house and we went for lunch and shopping after that.

Hehehe, I count this as my parenting milestone. I tried to act like what moms ought to do. But I sucks at it. I do not know what to talk to her about, ask a few questions, heck like only two questions. Horrors! Anyway, I don’t think 16 years old fancy having a conversation with me. I would die of shyness and swallowed my own tongue if I am 16 years old and trapped in a buffet lunch with the mom and noisy pack of brothers! So, I rather play the cool mom and drive them around and drop her back home after we shopped.

Now, I have one more ‘achievement’ added to a woman’s life. Meeting the girlfriend. Ok, my son has only one serious girlfriend so I count this as a serious meeting. I am glad that he finds himself a very sweet girl. Thank God for blessings. I hope he will treat her well, regardless.

  1. Like most wise people would say, “Your action counts. Nothing else matters”. And I’m sure both your son and his girlfriend appreciates a cool mum. Happy for you!
