I am obsessed with my facial skin. Every morning and after every face washing, I will stare at all the little white heads, press out the blackheads forming and see if I have an extra wrinkle or something. I have been like this since my twenties and scrubbing, exfoliating and all those rituals are very much practiced even when I am dead tired. I am hardly without a facial scrub. When, I am dead broke, I depended on St. Ives. When I have a little dough, I use Clinique 7-day scrub (which is not very effective) and also those oats scrubs from Body Shop.
Currently, I am using SKII facial cleanser which is my most favourite cleanser. On top of that, I have St. Ives Whitening scrub and also the apricot scrub. That how much I ‘torture’ my skin. I just can’t stand dead skin and white heads peeking out.
Recently, I bought this face brush from Crabtree & Evelyn for RM18.90. It is not very soft but neither abrasive. Go slow with it if your skin is sensitive. What I did is to apply a tiny amount of water and facial cleanser. Then, I gently go in circles over the face.
If I have make-up on, then, of course, I remove the make-up with some cream cleanser first, rinse the face with water before using the brush.
You can find a cheaper brush from Guardian going for only RM7.90. I don’t know about the quality though. So far, I like the brush from Crabtree & Evelyn because I can imagine it lifting off those little white heads peeking out. Sometimes, we cannot remove these white heads with just regular cleanser unless we use a rough face towel to gently swiped them off. So, this brush will do the job well.
Like I said, if you have sensitive skin or have skin prone to acne and pimples, don’t be too harsh on your skin. You may cause severe inflammation. Oh yeah, I am equally obsessed with body scrubbing too. (more on this next post)
After all that scrubbing, remember to replenish the skin with the proper skin care. I loaded on the followings :
1) SKII toner
2) SKII Miracle Water
3) SKII Whitening Essense
4) SKII Face Lift or during the day, SKII Age Defying moisturiser
LOL, that’s a mighty long time to clean a face.
Haha…and I was just reading Beauty Snob where she said she has a 12-step nightly beauty regime. Peng san!
Have you tried Cellnique’s Pro Sebum Gel?
