Gambling equals festivities
For us Chinese, we have been taught to gamble since the day we can count. It is more of a maths lesson for many of us because gambling involves skills and strategies.
We love to play blackjacks, gin rummy and when the crowd is big, we even play roulette at home. Though we are not allowed to play with real money as children, it is still fun. Who doesn’t get thrills from trying to get 21 points? How many of us kids used to giggle and laugh and give away game through bad control of facial expression when play poker?
So, even now, I still love to gamble on occasion like Chinese New Year when family and friends gather. We will bring out the table and start turning the house into a very lively place with loud laughters and banters. There are many great home game packages out there and one should get a set. This will make gathering a lot more lively.
I actually know my hubby through gambling. Can you believe that? He taught me the mahjong, gin rummy and poker. In fact, we spent most of our early dating days with his apartment mates and all we did was gambling through the night and have breakfast before going to sleep.
It is through him that I learnt the cunning skills of controlling my expression even when I have a good deck or bad deck in my hands. So, if you ask me, I would say gambling is good. Take a look at this roulette set. I would like to own one and have fun with old friends again.
And of course, my children have been taught to play card games too. They can equally play cards with the uncles and my hubby is mighty proud of them. Of course, we stressed the importance of not relying on gambling to get rich but rather to have fun, make friends and learn their maths skill.
