During one shopping spree, I bought Bobbi Brown compact foundation eventhough I don’t really need it. I already have a bottle of the liquid foundation from Bobbi Brown and loose powder. I also have the Maybelline mousse foundation (which I bought because I was so in love with Memoirs of the Geisha and that brand was advertised by Zhang Zi Yi, doh).

Anyway, the makeup artist from Bobbi Brown gave me a full makeover using the compact foundation and I like the texture and how natural it feels on my face and also the nice colour.

The Japanese brand will probably call this the two-way cake. However, it is different because the foundation is the cream type and we apply using the dry sponge. After testing several shades, the makeup artist found the Beige #3 most suitable for my skin.

It comes in two layer casing, the top is the foundation and the bottom is where they store the sponge.

Nice beige which doesn’t make me look like a ghost nor reddish like a lobster. The nicest thing about Bobbi Brown is how ‘un-make-up’ we look and yet looks neat. It gives the natural, simple finishing rather than looking like a tart.

My toddler and I had some silly faces photo session. Guess what? In the original photo, my skin tones looks almost as fair his my toddler. Nice! Hehehe, I had purposely blur out the pic because I cannot stand close-up pics of myself.

So, yeah, make sure your foundation suits your skin tone. To find out, take a close-up photo of yourself and you can tell from the photo. If you look like you have a layer of fakey looking powder on your face or you look too pale or looks like you have a fake tan, then throw out your foundation. Remember, foundation is the canvas on which you colour your soul. Chey, I sounds so artistic.

I cannot recall how much is the foundation, maybe RM138? Nay…I don’t usually remember prices because I feel less guilty that way. You may want to give a quick brush with some loose powder or just leave it as it is. Touch up with compact powder only when you have worn it for a while.
