This is a scent that you can say is a classic. I once own a bottle which is a special edition. It comes in a box with art by Andy Warhol. I do not know why but at that time, I was very much enamoured with Marilyn Monroe and the life she led. The song by Elton John, Candle In The Wind was a very haunting tune back then and it was soooo touching.

Well, Chanel No. 5 was the perfumed used by Marilyn Monroe and her favourite tagline was ‘I wear nothing but Chanel No. 5 to bed’. Ok, maybe not in that exact words but it was something like that. So, it is kinda sexy to wear just Chanel No. 5 to bed, don’t you think so? No doubt Marilyn Monroe is not from my era but her icon as a woman is historical.

I think of all the things, womens perfumes are what evoke men’s feelings most. I can tell you that long after you had broken up with a person, if you ever get a whiff of the person’s perfume, it will opened up the dam of memories stored deep in the mind. Many times, these won’t go away and it remains fresh in our mind.

As for me, I know that a certain aftershave will remind me of a certain someone. Not a love interest but nevertheless, he means a lot to me. So, if I ever get that whiff of aftershave, it brought back good, sad and happy memories, all in one.
