The romance of Vespa
Let me tell you. Before you scoff off Vespa as your grandpa’s bike, you have to know what role Vespa plays in one of the most chic city of the world. I was in Milan, Italy a few years ago. That was my first European trip and I was really looking forward to it. We arrived from France and got down from the train in Milan. The moment I stepped foot there, it was like going back in time.
The whole city of Milan is so classy! The beautiful Italian people really dressed up all the time and none of them wear sloppily. Their sidewalk cafes are filled with stylish people. The cobblestones roads are all very narrow and tiny. The only cars you see are the tiny Fiats and guess what? They ride Vespas! I was so amazed because at that time, the only person who ride Vespa was my ex-boyfriend father whom belongs to the museum. I mean the Vespa and the old man. Hehehe.
Vespa when given the right touch is a very, very cute and yet chic scooter. It goes slow and steady and the shape is so unique. Very much like the Beetle. I have a friend who owns a Vespa which he inherited from his dad but unfortunately, it was stolen recently. He is still hunting for a heritage scooter now because he loves spending time polishing and dot over the roundish and sparkling machine.
I am glad that they are now giving the Vespa the publicity it deserves. If you have gotten to know a Vespa, you are going to fall in love with it. Check out the link provided and enjoy the beauty of it. Remember those movies from the fifties starring those bosomy stars like Zsa Zsa Gabor who wore those flying sunglasses, a scarve on her hair and those killer red lipsticks? They sometimes ride on Vespa. Vintage, I tell you.
