Why don’t they make coffins look nicer?

I was clearing my photos from the camera and had almost forgotten the photo I took during Liza’s funeral.  When they pushed in the white coffin, my tears already started to fall.  It is kind of sad that someone who is hale and hearty just died like that.

But during the funeral mass, I decided that the sight of the beautiful white coffin with the satin white skirtings plus the flowers and a full banner of Liza is too beautiful and will be a pity if I don’t capture that photo.  So, I took out my camera and took a quick snap.

I had joked with my sons that if I ever die one day, I want a pink coffin and they better get it tailor made for me.  Well, it is hilarious but yet, it will be kind of nice because normal coffins are all in wood colours.  They look so sombre.  Why don’t they  make coffins that resemble gift boxes with frills and ribbons, laces and sequins?  I think I will like that.

After all, Christians celebrate death and see it as a glorious return to the Lord.  Hmm…maybe I should venture into the coffin industry and make coffin with attitudes.   Leather casings for the bikers, black for the gothics, gold for the rich and so on.
