My recollections of how I become a Christian
I didn’t become a Christian like most people. Most of them probably are led to the church by their friends and families. I hate that idea. I hate being part of a mob. I wanted to be different. I do not want people to influence my views. Not even people whom are closed to me.
So, I stepped foot into a church for the first time in my life (other than touristy trips to the churches in Italy, France and Australia), feeling very awkward and very amused. I went in alone! Yes, I was amused how orderly those church goers were. As orderly as those people in Mr. Bean’s cartoon.
What influences me are songs by Don Moen. A friend gave me his name and that was the first cassette I bought. I couldn’t afford a CD so I bought a cassette. I just heard Don Moen again and felt the nostalgia of those days when I was searching for that ‘something’ I long for. I found it. In Christ.
