My ex-boss was a very rich, powerful and successful man. Each evening after his work, he will head to the club to play a round of poker with his buddies. These are not just any men but the movers and shakers of the corporate world. They are the editors of the media companies, politicians and all those that matters to him.

They gamble with real money, by the thousands. However, since it is always their cronies, the money changes hands and will go back to the same circle. So, there isn’t much profit and loss kind of thing. Instead, it is more of a game. A power game. The bravest and richest man wins. It determines who is the best of them all.

Poker is not just a matter of luck but instead using many other factors to win. It is rather closely knitted with how one run a business. A lot of cunning moves and smart strategies.

Therefore, my ex-boss home has his own gambling den with Poker Table Tops. I had been there to deliver documents and had seen the kind of intense look on those men.  Those are the kind of faces that make millions of dollars business.  Not just any man from the street but the untouchables.  Similar to what the Italian mafias are.  Hmmm…power = money = gambler.
