This is one question that I often asked myself. You see, exactly six years ago, I gave birth to a premature baby. He was under the care of this doctor who doesn’t have the proper ventilator for a small premature baby. They have to use the adult one which I learnt, much much later, can cause injuries to his premature lungs.
Therefore, he has BPD and had a long struggle until he passed on seven months later. After his death, I wrote letter with a lot of questions to the original doctor who took care of him during birth. She replied through her lawyer. I wasn’t satisfied with her answers but I did not pursue it further because I wasn’t sure if I have a case.
Often, injured parties aren’t sure if they have a case. Unless and until they can find an expert to advise them, they normally live with questions like me. Do I have a case? Nebraska Personal Injury Attorney maybe a good place to start asking. Whether you were hurt in an auto accident or a serious injury on the job, Larry Demerath can help you. Contact his office to learn what he can do for you and your family.
As for me, I guess I will keep on asking this same question and get emotional over my child’s death on his birthday and death anniversary. There are lots of lawyers who are expert in BPD cases but I am too afraid to dig back the past. Otherwise, I will probably be able to bury my questions and at the same time, get justice done for all the premature babies whose lungs get injured due to wrong ventilator settings.
