Getting ready for the festive season?
The other day, hubby decided to uncork a bottle of wine which has been in our cabinet for a while. Unfortunately, the cork broke and the pieces fell into the wine. Ewwss….we ended up needing a sieve to filter out the cork from the wine. It sort of spoils the mood as it is no fun to see sediments in the wine.
That’s the problem with both of us. We keep putting off the idea of getting a proper wine rack to store the few bottles of wines we have. Year after year, we never got around to buy it. We leave the bottles standing, causing the cork to dry up. I read that this is totally unacceptable where wine and other liquor are concerned.
Wine Rack does not cost that much and they have some metals or wooden ones on sale. If you do not want to end up with ugly, broken cork, do get one now and keep those bottles stored properly. Now that the holiday season is approaching, it is the best time to get the wine ready. I hate the idea of last minute rush and not being able to find the wine I like.
By the way, does all the different varieties of wines confused you? I do. I have yet to find a trusted person and a good shop to patronize. It has always been trial and error. No doubt I do read about them in the food magazines, I still get very confused. *sigh*
