I know this is a crazy post.  But I am so amused to discover that they also have bras made for obese men!  This is like so funny.  Or maybe I am just plain ignorant?  Wateva.  Just look at the kind of response to this topic.  I am not talking about cross-dressers, ok?

I don’t think small or large is the issue. I think the issue is nipple protruberance (sp?).
I just think it looks tastless when you can see… If they created something to just cover the nipples then I think it would be okay. I don’t think there are many women, large or small who don’t sigh with relief when that bra comes off. It’s like wearing socks that leave that little ring around your ankle.

hasn’t been upgraded in ages??? that’s not true at all!!
i’m so glad for the bra, it’s a wonderful device!
if someone is comfortable without one, fine. but i personally am not, i don’t like bouncing & jiggling about. it hurts! i like to wear my reducer bras too so i can fit into more clothes. also, a good bra can prevent back problems.
i would think most large breasted women (like myself) would be uncomfortable going braless.

  3. Mc Duff says:

Large or small, with or without, do what’s most comfortable
to you — I for one would be satisfied either way, ’cause I
    really don’t care.

  4. Teeleecee says:

Oh man…I wish someone would come up with a bra for men. Seriously dudes…some of you need to wear these things. I actually like bras, and I do believe they have changed significantly over the years.

  5. Troll-Shark™ says:

I think I speak for all men (and most sharks) when I say it makes us feel kinda tingly all over.

Unless they’re floppy boppies – nobody wants to see that.

  6. autumn says:

Skinnier me prefers to go braless. Right now I am at my heaviest and need a bra. Aside from the fact that now they are painfull when they aren’t held still, I feel “sloppy tittie” – but mostly it’s because it hurts.

  7. dbethanid says:

Honestly when I see a women not wear a bra it depends on the breast size and how it looks. Small breasted women can go all day without wearing a bra. They generally look fine in clothing. I don’t think big breasted women look good with out a bra. And I’m a big breasted women. I think over the years I’ve had it ingrained in me that High firm breast are the ideal and big breasted women need a bra to achieve that. I didn’t realize that I had these kind of double standards.

  8. Zikiru says:

I actually hate NOT wearing one. I’m so used to it that I’m uncomfortable without one on.

I could care less if someone else wasn’t wearing one.. But when their nipples look like daggers sticking out of their shirt.. then I think ‘slutty’.

  9. B Dorian says:

It would stand to reason that if you wear a bra, your breasts would sag less in the long run.

Or is the boob skin more resilient?

Most of the women I know wear them for support, not some kind of social standard.

  10. Lauren F says:

    It is just not appropriate

I am not large, a little under “average” I suppose. I think wearing a bra makes women look more presentable when they are in public, or dressed for work, or going out to functions and the like. With most people it is some kind of hang up they have that society does not approve of a woman without a bra. Some of it is the floppy boobs, but you can get those wearing a bra as well. Probably the biggest concern is the nipples showing through this has had a big no no attached to it forever I think. For me I shed my bra whenever possible. As soon as I walk in the door it is gone, and virtually all weed ends unless I am going out at night. I regularly go grocery shopping and do many things around the public without a bra. It doesn’t bother me in the least. A bra is almost always preferred by women with large breasts as the support helps, and smaller breasts can many times get by on their own.

i don’t think there is any excuse for an uncomfortable bra. they come in some many styles and sizes that there is comfort available to us all. perhaps you have been buying the same style forever. go to victoria’s secret and get a free fitting. surveys have found that up to 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra for their size or shape.

when i see a women who isn’t wearing a bra, i often also see
her nipples through the shirt. plus, the saggy boobs detract from the flow of the shirt and take away from the overall look. i think it is inappropriate (but don’t get upset about it) because no one should be able to tell whether you are wearing underwear or not. saggy, jiggly breasts are very obvious to men and women. from a fashion standpoint, the proper bra can even make you look slimmer and help clothes fit better.

they have definitely changed over the years. check out victoria’s secret or frederick’s of hollywood. there are front-close, back-close, full-coverage, minimal-coverage, silk, cotton, racer-back, convertible, strapless, wireless, padded, unpadded, comfort straps, thin straps…

  13. Rio Madeira says:

As long as they don’t flop about every which way (mostly a problem for bustier women), it’s fine by me. Women with more youthful busts are less likely to need a bra. I’m decently sized, so I need one, but I don’t mind.

  14. Angie says:

I think its absolutely fine for anyone to go braless.

  15. Feinschmecker says:

Flat-chested women look better without a bra, as do really firm breasts of any size. Flabby floppies don’t look too good unsupported.

  16. Laura B says:

I myself prefer a bra because I would feel uncomfortable if I was nippling. But right before I go to sleep I take it off to let my boobs relax. I personally don’t care if other women wear them or not. The thing that really gets to me is when I see a women who is big and has alot of stretch marks and wears a small shirt to show it all.

  17. Lee says:

Like you I hate wearing a bra. That should be our choice, not according to our breasts size.

  18. natalie says:

Large breasted women are more likely to hate their bras than small breasted women, simply because large breasts are more difficult to make comfortable in a bra.
But whether large or small, it isn’t the size that makes bras necessary but the steady depradations of gravity. I never wore bras until I became pregnant – i didn’t need to. Things have changed. I still prefer not to wear them when i can do without, and i approve when a woman who can do without does. Not all women can.
A good breast is a terrible thing to waist.
    (No, that’s not a misspelling.)
As for not being upgraded in ages – have you looked at Victoria’s Secret? Furthermore, sports bras have come quite a long ways since the double-underwire, hard cup shells they used to be. The economic incentives are fierce.
