Can vegetarian diet helps to lose weight?
This is one of the questions my friends asked when I tell them that I am fasting for 40 days. As a Catholic, we are called to fast on every Fridays during the season of Lent, i.e. starting on Ash Wedesday which is this February 7th 2008 and ending on Good Friday. i told them that I don’t go on the vegetarian fasting to lose weight so I never check my weight. I do it not so much due to the faith side but rather, to allow my body to rest without digesting all those fatty foods, meats and seafoods.
They cannot believe that I don’t lose weight. Well, when I am on vegetarian fasting, I make sure that I still take proteins, i.e. eggs and milk plus soy products. This way, I don’t lose muscles as going on vegetarian diet can cause us to lose our muscles if we are not careful.
That’s why I told my friends to go over to sites which have quick weight loss diet plans and read for themselves how to lose weight. We should cut down our meals drastically nor eat only certain groups of foods. They can read from Weight Loss Diet Help website which compares leading diet plans and weight loss programs such as Medifast, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers and more. It also lists discount coupons and promotions for these programs, so you can save when you join.
For example, they have the 25% off Weight Watchers Online coupon that will expire on Jan 31 and those who are keen to start a diet, should grab the coupon now. While reading through the site, I found a page title Easy Tips to Lose One Pound a Week and am now wondering if I should incorporate some weight loss efforts while I am on the vegetarian fasting.
